    1. Set in 1921, M t s rousing sequel to Ghost Sea finds Captain Dugger and his mate, Nello Cerriaci, on an odyssey from Mexico to Polynesia aboard Dugger s ketch with an odd trio of companions Already aboard is Kate, a woman with no memories beyond the past three weeks Joining them after a daring rescue of Nello from a Mexican jail are Darina, an Irish woman calling herself a nun, and Robert Guillaume, a self professed French spy They set sail for Tahiti, an exhausting, treacherous 3,000 mile, mont [...]

    2. I loved the first book in this series and when I finished it I was happy to read in the endpapers that the author was working on a sequel I was then in need of a book for a long trip to the arctic, so I went to the book store when I recognized the title of this sequel and immediately bought it I read it over the course of a few flights nearly without putting it down, and thoroughly enjoyed it I found a few parts of the book to be slightly too far fetched some aspects of the man overboard scene , [...]

    3. I received a copy of Sea of Lost Dreams A Dugger Nello Novelin a first reads giveaway I m sorry that it s taking so long to review as I received it just before exams and couldn t begin reading it until now. This story is dark, beautiful, and haunting, filled with strong characters and adventure It s historical in nature, yet the events that take place seem almost fantastical M t is a strong writer and very knowledgable of the topics about which he writes The story is told in great detail, paintin [...]

    4. lots of fighting and sailing These 2 salt dogs, escaped BC, ended up in Baja, selling rifles to the revolutionaries, escape there and head to Tahiti to relax and look for some gold End up in the Marquesas instead and take on the french navy highhandedly twss I think the best parts of this book are the sailing bits, and the crazy French commander of Hiva Oa Parts surreal, parts cheesy love story, parts tormented inner lives, this is a unique novel if nothing else.

    5. Picked this up on vacation in a book swap when I ran out of things to read It s plot driven, adventure on the high seas Predictable, plot driven, melodramatic but not so bad I didn t finish it Good enough to fill the reading hours but wouldn t bother with it if there were other options.

    6. This is a great book about a sea captain, his lover, mate, supposed spy, and a nun that really isn t a nun It covers their adventures crossing the ocean, pirates, and how they get away I would definitely recommend it.

    7. I just found this author Serious talent Only this Ghost Sea were in my local library I ll be looking for .

    8. Kind of a sappy title for a good adventure story with lots of plot twists Plenty of sailing lingo for those who like it and interesting characters as well.
