    16. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC The idea behind the mystery was really good, it just didn t feel like it was executed very well There were many parts where I felt confused, and the ending was very muddled The setting was very well written I ve never been to Santa Fe, but I did feel like I was back in New Mexico reading it.

    18. A good read for those who love cozy mysteries I wasn t quite sold on the premise that an Assistant DA in NYC would leave her role to run a consignment shop on her own in her birthplace of New Mexico We all go back home again, but speaking as someone who went to law school and took the NY Bar exam, I m just not one to sacrifice my career unless burned out that easily for a mother who wasn t very maternal nor seemed physically or mentally ill which is what it would take for me to give up for a par [...]

    21. This is definitely a cosy mystery lots of fun with a bit of intrigue. For me, it was too busy so much happening, too much coming and going, so many people involved and a tad confusing as to whether they were goodies or baddies However, the core characters of Irene, Adelle and Angel made for very entertaining sleuths A little simplicity wouldn t go amiss though Enjoyable read.

    23. I am impressed at how much mystery the author could stuff into this exciting short story A Killer Closet is a sometimes fun but overall suspenseful and hair raising novel set in the beauty of Santa Fe Irene moved back home after being an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan Her mother Adelle s most recent husband had died, and her mother couldn t bear to live alone She had no money as her late husband left everything to his children and now in her 70 s, Adelle is afraid to live alone She was [...]

    26. The following are the notes I wrote after reading the early chapters of A Killer Closet by Paula Paul I just finished the first seven chapters and am not finding this book particularly good for a variety of reasons 1 I can t imagine any young woman giving up a job as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan to go live with her mother because her needy mother, aged 70, asked her to 2 The mother is beyond annoying So far she has no redeeming characteristics If this character isn t given a lika [...]

    27. Irene seems to have a good life She is an assistant district attorney In Manhatten She has her own apartment and seems to be content I loved her spunk and strong personality Yes,Irene is feeling good and loving her life What could possibly mess it up Could it be the phone call from her mother That little phone will change Irene s life forever In a blink of an eye, Irene is moving to Santa Fe to take care of her seventy year old mother I did think it was quick for Irene to give up everything she [...]

    28. 29. A Killer ClosetPaula Paul s mystery is a quick, fun read The events leading into the story are well developed elsewhere on this page, so I will refrain from rehashing all the details Briefly Irene leaves an assistant district attorney position in Manhattan, and returns to her childhood home in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the request of her mother She decides to open an upscale consignment shop, named Irene s Closet And, in the shop s closet at Irene s Closet, the dead body of one of mother Adelle s [...]

    30. I received this title from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review Honestly I tried to like it, but I had serious problems believing the characters Irene leaves her job, and her life, to move back to her hometown to help her mother, to whom she was never close She decides to open a consignment clothing store instead of pursuing employment in her own field, and as far as we can tell, has no friends anywhere Even the good guys aren t so good in this town Irene s mother takes narcissism to a new [...]
