    1 thought on “Second Alpha

    1. 4 heartsOh this one was goood What happens when you get one human who usually tops, and one Alpha Werewolf A battle for dominance.David is the second in command to the River Wolf Pack and has been appointed as a new human werewolf ambassador As has Jax, a human who we met in First Omega Jax and David started their little tryst at the end of First Omega, therefore this story starts with them already being quite established. This story was a mix of David and Jax trying to reveal conspiracies within [...]

    2. Can a Werewolf and A Human Be Happy Book two in Rebecca James s River Pack Series and the author has written a book about cross species love matches and whether one can ever truly be happy without taking on the other life and assimilating into their culture Ok, so maybe I am looking at this book a little too deep but, it is about a human and a werewolf falling in love which is forbidden You need to read book one in this series, First Omega, before you even try to read this story The MC in this s [...]

    3. I remember very vividly when I finished reading First Omega , book one in Rebecca Janes s series River Wolf Pack I was beyond excited and all I wanted to know was whether the author planned on making this a series I reached out to the author bugged her, like it and begged to know if there was going to be I was thrilled to discover that there would be since I was nowhere near done with this alternate reality, hot sexy shifters, and male pregnancy world It has everything I love, and David is se [...]

    4. DNF at 37%Too many characters to keep track of and nothing but fucking drama It s like the shifter version of Melrose Place but not as entertaining When the knotting stops being super drooly HAWT that s a problem Just sayin NEXT

    5. ARC received from author via Indigo Marketing Design in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in the series and it continues where the last one left off In order for these to make sense, you would have to read them in order I felt this one was a bit of a slow starter and at times I started getting confused about who was who There s so many characters and there is so much going on with each of them, all having their own stories running alongside that of the MC s In saying that, m [...]

    6. Spoiler Ahead This was book two in the River Wolf Pack series David is second in command and he is ambassador to the Human Werewolf Congress and he takes it very seriously David also has a human lover Jax David and jax love each other but neither of them can live in each others world Jax doesn t want the bite to turn into a were and David knows that he can t live in the human world This book also had a lot going on in it River and Josiah are expecting twins and when he gives birth it s two girls [...]

    7. Really enjoyed I like that this author really puts work in It s not just the run of the mill mating trope In this book, she complicates things a bit with making David s second alpha love interest a dominant human, who doesn t seem to want the bite that would change him to a werewolf Not only that, David has to deal with his desires to submit to Jax at times in the bedroom We have the council meetings with the humans and trying to smooth tensions there, and the human delegation visits to the wolf [...]

    8. So much happened, I m still digesting it all The story is part of a series and focuses on David and Jax, an alpha wolf and a human It s also peppered with characters from the first book and advances the storyline of the Human Coalition The battles for dominance, the introduction of Brooks as a possible mate for Jax and the suspenseful moments all added up to an entertaining story I really enjoyed it and can t wait to read the third book

    9. MM story with Male Pregnancy David is second to River in the River Wolf Pack and he is a Alpha His mate is Jax a Human and a Dominant Story continues on from the first book First Omega With some of the humans holding on to the belief that humans are superior and werewolves need eradicating and the Wolves believing Humans are odd and untrustworthy Great Addition to the series has characters from the previous book Highly Recommend Entertaining and Enjoyable read.

    10. 11. 3.5 starsOne thing Ms James loves to do is introduce MULTIPLE characters in one book It can become convoluted at times This ending didn t feel rushed or unfinished That was a plus.

    12. This book was provided by the author via IndiGo Marketing Design in exchange for an honest review.I give this book a solid 3 stars for the action and intrigue.I am all about that A B O life and no story would be complete without slick, uncontrollable heats, and the struggles of explaining how men get impregnated and give birth I wouldn t recommend this book for anyone who can t appreciate this genre as a guilty pleasure free of guilt and full of PLEASURE Now onto the book The story takes place i [...]

    13. A Copy of these books was provided to Bayou Book Junkie in exchange for a fair and honest review As Second Alpha of the River Wolf Pack, David takes the safety and wellbeing of his pack seriously He has never been a fan of humans and was extremely wary of Pack Alpha River bringing one into their pack to learn about them, he d rather they avoided humans altogether and went back to how they once were Now that River is mated to a half human, half werewolf, he is tasked with learning as much as he [...]

    14. Book Second AlphaAuthor Rebecca JamesSeries River Wolf SeriesRating 4.5 StarsI am so happy to be back in the world of the River Wolf pack In this book the story continues of the River and pack trying to keep the peace between the humans and the wolves Still has complicated as ever with those on both sides who are against the whole idea Human s because they think wolves are the lesser than species who are nothing than animals and the wolves because they do not trust or want human s and their odd [...]

    15. I had seriously high hopes for this book because at the end of First Omega River Wolf Pack 1 I couldn t think about anything but my anticipation for a book about David and Jax I was not disappointed.David was like that bratty, grumpy character that you couldn t help but love because you knew deep down that he was actually a little fluff ball of love and comfort Of course he hated Jax at first, being human and all, but it s no surprise that any two men in this series that get close together are g [...]

    16. An ARC was provided by the author in return for an honest review. This book is the second in the series The main characters, David River Wolf Pack s second alpha and pack representative , and Jax the Human Werewolf congress representative were introduced to us in the first book Tensions are high between the humans and werewolves with neither side truly understanding the other Humans are given a chance to visit the werewolf home to learn about them, and we are given a deeper look into the werewol [...]

    17. In First Omega, Rebecca James built her world and introduced a lot of memorable characters She also wove in an engaging plot twist that needed to be looked at from a different angle This angle we get in Second Alpha as we follow the like the title hints second alpha of the River pack, David, as he goes to the city to function as the ambassador for the pack Pack alpha, River, has enough on his hands with Josiah being pregnant and his human half causes trouble.Once again, I absolutely enjoyed myse [...]

    18. This is the second book in the River Pack series and sequel to First Omega This is David and Jax s story I was unsure about David in the first book, he is River s second alpha of the pack and I felt he was portrayed as having his own agenda However, he becomes the new liaison with the human werewolf congress and continues his affair with the human Jax This causes a number of issues, not only for the pack, but between themselves Jax dithers about taking the bite and sometimes it feels it s angst [...]

    19. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest reviewThis was a great follow up the the first book, First Omega At the end of that book, David, a were, was working with Jax, a human, to improve relations between the two groups They are together as a couple before this book starts, and this is a great story that doesn t ignore the challenges and hesitations that these two men face They come from different worlds, and sometimes it is hard to ignore past beliefs example th [...]

    20. Fell in love with the first one, so of COURSE I had to dive into the second one as well Freaking phenomenal Can there be a better sequel anywhere I loved this book to peices First there was David, who in the first book you were lead to believe he was the bad guy, but it couldn t be further from the truth I adore David, so much He s a fantastic Alpha who loves his pack almost as much as River does He tried so hard to help bridge the gap between humans and werewolves.Jax on the other hand, now he [...]

    21. This was 3.5 read for me Quick and enjoyable and the characters were relatable this time around I liked Jo and River but I did not feel much of a connection between them Though hopefully write about main characters that are polygamous since in this world werewolves are polygamous and we had seen secondary characters in happy polygamous relations Though am very wary about it I have become comfortable about my views on polygamous relationships Personally this is not the type of arrangement that [...]

    22. This book was provided by the author via IndiGo Marketing Design in exchange for an honest review. This is the sequel to First Omega and here we see David s story with Jax David is second alpha in command of the pack and Jax is his human lover This is quite a problem for many in the pack because they don t want to be involved with humans at all There is some angst in this story between David and Jax in that they are very much in love you can really feel the love but they are caught between their [...]

    23. A Joyfully Jay review 4 starsI liked Second Alpha a bit than I did First Omega It s not that I think David and Jax are better characters than River and Josiah They re about equal in my mind, but I enjoyed reading about the human werewolf congress, the conspiracies, and the struggle to maintain a love relationship as the tension between the two species continues to grow.David is a grumpy Alpha He loves Jax, but it s almost as if he s loving him begrudgingly I could feel his confusion and insecu [...]

    24. I received a copy of Second Alpha by Rebecca James via Indigo Marketing Design in exchange for an honest review I enjoyed the first book in the series, First Omega, where we meet David, the main character in Second Alpha, for the first time He is initially an ambiguous character, but redeems himself by the end of First Omega David is involved with Jax, a human, which is frowned upon by the werewolf culture in which he lives David also is the liaison with the Human Werewolf Congress, so spends so [...]

    25. This book was provided by the author via IndiGo Marketing Design in exchange for an honest review. The story was one I was interested in and the premise was a good one The difficulty David has in making peace between what is his societal norm, position wise, and what he needs to do and be in order to be happy and stay with Jax is appreciated It did seem like there was a bit of missed opportunity, in that it only ever seemed to be touched on in a surface way, and could have been given of the weig [...]

    26. Second one in the series, and you really have to to read in order. So we left the last one with a HFN, couple ppl pregnant, David had just met a human, Jax, that has turned his world upside down And things still unresolved with the wolf human congress. We ve got a couple of different stories going on David and Jax have developed a good rhythm Or at least we all believe they have David is and in love with him, Jax is getting and in tune with the werewolf way of life, but neither of them have ta [...]

    27. Copy provided for an honest reviewThis one I liked a lot than the first David and Jax are characters that have personality and an interesting dynamic than the first one There s drama, but the characters are so personable that it works Jax and David are mates, but Jax doesn t want to give up his family to move in with David and the wolves, and David is too alpha to leave his pack He also doesn t feel comfortable in living among humans with relations so bad Jax has prejudice views than we see i [...]

    28. This book was provided by IndiGo Marketing in exchange for an honest review.First off let me say this is book 2 in a series and you really should read book 1 first to get a better understanding of characters and plot That being said, I really enjoyed this book, maybe even than book 1 This book focuses on David and Jax who met at the end of last book, but you also get to see the characters from the first book again and have the story line advancing on the Human Coalition front The action was ste [...]

    29. LOVED this story, I just loved all the dynamics of werewolf human relations, like romantic for David and Jax and also X and Trace, and then the Congress and humans with their werewolf phobic thinking I definitely see things continuing to be shaky, and it kinda makes me hate the humans haha I also loved how well things like mpreg were explained and also how we got to learn about werewolf society, like with the turned And that there are coyote shifters Also, I m so, so glad there was River and J [...]
