    1. I bought this souvenir type book for a friend who s a Churchill fan, has read his series of memoirs I had just visited Chartwell and thoroughly enjoyed learning about Churchill and his home life he lived here with his family for 40 years. This book describes the property, its history, the changes made by the Churchills and its current state as a National Trust property So it was a good summary, a review of what I d seen and provided details of interest.Chapters The Road to ChartwellTransforming [...]

    2. A guidebook that I purchased at Chartwell The place itself is fascinating a lot about Churchill and his life that just about the house If you do buy the book the last two chapters will guide you around the hous and gardens may be worth reading in advance The rest of the book is about Churchill s life some of it written by his daughter and this can be read before or after your visit.
