    1. So I have a kind of love hate relationship with Jane Green books I absolutely adored her first books until they switched over to romance contemporary with the main characters in America I missed the earlier books like Jemima J, Mr Maybe, and Bookends This short story is the first time in such a long time that I felt like I was reading one of Ms Green s older books and I loved it This is a set up to Jane Green s Summer Secrets focusing on the character of Cat Now I have to buy this book to read [...]

    2. gorgeous cover, totally what pulled me in right away, I found it on for free I am new to Jane Green, yes I will be finding books from Jane to read soon enough I love a great short story, I so enjoyed these characters, and yes I have seen many of Jane s book covers and she has been on my TBR list for sure, just getting around to checking her out For me this was a quickly read book, whatever it is pulls me in and I was sad to see it over and done A huge reason I know I will be checking out from [...]

    3. I loved this short introduction to Cat, the main character in Jane Green s upcoming SUMMER SECRETS, as well as the appearance of Jemima from one of my all time favorite books, JEMIMA J I m hoping that this means Jane Green is thinking about Jemima again and maybe we ll hear from her A girl can dream

    4. Lovely to be reunited with Jemima again, even so briefly Having previously read Summer Secrets, seeing Cat s descent into alcohol was still so heartbreaking I saw Jane Green post she s looking to revive Jemima which reminded me I had yet to read this short story and I m certainly looking forward to Jemima in the future, in any form

    5. The short version first Free previews of books help you make decisions about whether you want to spend your money buying the book being previewed In the case of Jane Green s Cat and Jemima J you are definitely getting a lot than you are paying for, i.e nothing This preview gives you a good feel for several things Let s look at what you are getting First, this preview of Ms.Green s Summer Secrets gives you a feel for her writing style You can see that she portrays her characters with honesty, cl [...]

    6. Perhaps it was wishful thinking to hope an freebie would be a little than a plug for an upcoming book. The first half of Cat and Jemima J is a short chapter to call it a story would be too generous that connects Jane Green s Jemima J and Summer Secrets by the protagonists meeting in a bar, while the second half is a sneak preview of Summer Secrets. While an interesting concept to overlap her two protagonists, the titular Cat and Jemima J, it doesn t feel like it achieved much It s so short there [...]

    7. Intriguing little short story that involves the main characters from two of Jane Green s full length novels I had read Jemima J but have not read Summer Secrets I apparently liked Jemima J but have almost no recollection of it just saw that I rated but didn t review it way back in 2008 , and while I enjoyed this short story enough, I don t think the premise of Summer Secrets battling alcoholism I m guessing is something I m interested in spending time reading Listened to Cat and Jemima J as a fr [...]

    8. As a big fan of Jemima J I was excited to see this character reappear in another Jane Green novel I really liked this little novella I just wish it was a lot longer I m hoping that Jemima J is also found in Summer Secrets.

    9. Not sure what I expectedBook title looked interesting Not much progression after the character Jemima was I introduced Really no plot line Read like a diary. Can t say that that this was a good introduction to the author.

    10. This is a very quick tie in from Jemima J and an upcoming novel with Cat I m assuming that you do not need to read this in order to read the book with Cat but it may give a little background It was read in an hour so I think you could probably take it or leave it.

    11. I read this a little out of orderI need to read the Jemima J book The characters were fun Jane Green never fails to entertain.

    12. This was like the opening chapter of the author s newest novel I m only giving it three stars because it didn t go anywhere, but I m sure once I read the novel, it ll make sense.

    13. Great Like all of Jane Green s work, this kept me interested and wanting Short stories don t do justice for Green we want words from her

    14. I think I would have enjoyed this if I had read the full length novels that feature these characters, but it was still a good story that had purpose.

    15. That was a quick read at 31 pages The Book is actually longer, however after the main short story is the Sneek peek intoby Jane Green which is what I m about to begin now so I didn t read that part of the book from this peek inside This was mentioned on the Summer Secrets group thread as a free short story so I thought I d check it out It s my first Jane Green booke short story and Summer Secrets I m a, the book has to grab me by the throat in the first paragraph, page or chapter, reader I ll st [...]

    16. I read Jemima J quite a few years ago, well over 10 years, at least I remember her name but that is about all that I recall from that book I have a vague impression that I did not hate the book yet I am sure that I did not love it as I am foggy on all details of the novel I know Jemima J was the first Jane Green book that I ever read and that it lead me to borrow of her stuff from my local library.I just read Summer Secrets this year In fact it was a book that I won from I remember the basic ou [...]

    17. Short story about a journalist trying to get away from fluff pieces and find her feet in a tougher, grittier journalistic style Cat, the writer, has a chance encounter with Jemima J, the titular character from one of Green s novels Interesting but it didn t leave me with a deep yearning to follow the path of either character.

    18. Such a throwaway story to introduce Summer Secrets which I really liked I already knew that I d read Jane Green s latest novel, anyway, so this was unnecessary The meeting between Cat and Jemima J could easily slip into the book but wasn t important enough to move the story along It makes me feel like the publisher assigned the author to write it or it was something edited out of the final draft Part of the problem was that Jemima J is such an early book of Green s that you may not remember the [...]

    19. Review originally posted on my blog livinglifewithjoy Check out my blog for reviews, interviews, excerpts and giveaways Pens are mightier than the sword An unlikely pair meet and bond over drinks in a bar Cat is an uninspired journalist, looking for her big break She s just been handed the biggest break of all, but she s too nice to take advantage of it Something tells me she s in the wrong line of business, and that her kindness shouldn t be looked down upon as a weakness The short story was w [...]

    20. What a complete waste of money This is like one of those preview chapters at the end of a book two preview chapters, because there s a preview of the book which apparently makes the first half make sense I didn t bother reading that because I was so cross Jemima J book I read many, many years ago and re read on a plane last week meets a woman who wants to be a journalist Cat JJ having a shitty time Cat having a shitty time Meet in bar Chat There you go saved you the effort of buying it and read [...]

    21. Howling Cat and FriendsThis was a disappointment, having read some of the author other books I have seen women who couldn t cope, they find ways to drug themselves with booze, food, sex, and sadly sometimes even doing physical harm to themselves This book was just one dimension of those things that really hurting themselves with As a Psychologist, I think the author didn t do enough research.

    22. Cat and Jemima J by Jane GreenThis short story of a journalist who is making a list of topics she can write about when she is friended by JJ She tells Cat of her life, baby and husband in LA but he s lied about things that will come to haunt her.Others in the newsroom want to find JJ also to interview her.Excerpts from Summer Secrets is also included Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.

    23. I read Jemima J a few years ago now and I enjoyed it, so I was pleased to hear that a new short story was being released with Jemima J in it Cat and Jemima J is a introduction to Cat, the new character in the upcoming novel, Summer Secrets which I plan to read There is not much to the story, Cat meets Jemima when they are both having difficulties in their lives and it was nice to see the start of a friendship between both women.
