Bible, no person who has ever sinned can enter heaven Only those who are perfect and without sin may dwell in the presence of God How God accomplished this impossible task is perhaps the greatest work of grace ever displayed in the creation of the universe. When Jesus appeared inPrefaceWhat God requires for heaven, may come as a surprise to many people According to the Bible, no person who has ever sinned can enter heaven Only those who are perfect and without sin may dwell in the presence of God How God accomplished this impossible task is perhaps the greatest work of grace ever displayed in the creation of the universe. When Jesus appeared in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago, He made a stunning statement Mark 2 17Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.Jesus did not die to save good people He died to save sinners If a person sincerely believes that he is basically a good person and that Jesus could greatly improve his goodness, they have missed the point of Jesus death If it were possible for God to somehow make good people better by teaching them the practice of righteousness, then it would not have been necessary for Jesus to die.The fact that God required the death of His Son by the most horrific means possible, is evidence that He views our sins as fatal with no hope of removal by our own personal efforts Jesus was made sin for us, despite the fact that He had never personally committed any sin Himself Imagine the Holy and impeccable character of God, being polluted by all the filthy and vile acts of every human being Some people do not consider themselves a sinnerAre there some of us who are good people and worthy of eternal life According to the human definition of good, there are many fine people who live amongst us They make great sacrifices of their lives to help mankind They are kind, considerate, thoughtful, and generous Certainly these good people are worthy of heaven when they die. What is at issue in regards to the term goodness, is what God considers good According to the one who created us, the presence of even one sin means that a person is imperfect therefore, this person is not capable of true goodness Since all human beings are incapable of perfection, none of us is truly good.Romans 3 10 As it is written There is none righteous, no, not one Romans 3 12 They have all turned aside They have together become unprofitable There is none who does good, no, not one.Jesus defined God as the only one who is truly Good.Matthew 19 17No one is good but One, that is, God A person may do many wonderful and magnanimous works, but the likelihood that he will, at some point, fail to be good is a certainty Even the best people have moments of pride, unjust anger, selfishness, and lust In order to be truly good, these things must never be present in our life. The purpose of Jesus coming to earth was to remove our sins and to make it possible, upon our new life in heaven, that we will never sin again At that time, we will be perfect and fit the true definition of goodness.According to the prophecy of Isaiah, the purpose of the Messiah was to bear the sins of many Isaiah 53 12d He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors Paul described Jesus, in the New Testament, as the One whom Isaiah wrote, who would come to earth and die to bear our sins thereby removing them forever.2 Corinthians 5 21 For He made Him Jesus who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.When Jesus died, He took all sins, from Adam s first, to our last Jesus died, not only for the sins you have committed up to the point that you receive Him as your Savior He died for all sins that you will ever commit The purpose of Jesus death on the Cross was to die for the sins of the whole world.1 John 2 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world John 3 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. This includes those who will never receive Jesus sacrifice for their sins, even the people who will continue to hate, blaspheme, ridicule and defy Him for their entire life Jesus will continue to love the worst of sinners and seek to draw them to Himself, until their final breath Why would God do this It is a great mystery why God would allow His Son to die for those who would never receive Him Most of the world will refuse to believe in Jesus sacrifice for their sins and be saved This is not due to a lack of truth in what Jesus has accomplished, but because people are simply not willing to come to Jesus and receive Him This means that a majority of the suffering that Jesus endured while dying for the sins of the world will never be properly appropriated to those He was seeking to save Jesus suffered unimaginable pain and distress for people who will never even thank Him In spite of the fact that Jesus knew that this would happen, before He created the first man, He offered His life for the entire world God wanted every person to have the opportunity to experience His love and forgiveness. This fact alone declares how great the Love of God is The only possible purpose for Jesus dying for those who would never believe exists for no other reason other than to display God s great love before all creation The fact that people will not receive what Jesus has done in such a great sacrifice, even failing to thank Him for what He has done, is a testament to the reprobate condition of mankind. It is not the fault of God that anyone is lost and does not make it to heaven It is the fault of those who refuse to believe God has been fully vindicated and stands forever Righteous and Holy, by the immense sacrifice that Jesus has made No other planAt the Garden of Gethsemane, we see that God had determined that there would be only one way in which He would receive a sinner and grant him forgiveness of his sins Jesus asked the Father if there was any other plan to save us the answer came swiftly, and Jesus stepped forward and accomplished this one way that God had determined Matthew 26 36 39 Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, Sit here while I go and pray over there And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed Then He said to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death Stay here and watch with Me He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will Father, if there is any other way that You can forgive their sins and redeem all people, then take this horrible cup of sin from Me Jesus had looked into the cup of all sins and saw how horrible they were He understood that in a few hours, He was going to be made sin by the sins of the world Let us not miss the importance of this fact Jesus became sin for us The literal definition of this term means that all the acts of horror, degradation, cruelty, murder, rape, incest, butchery, mayhem, and debauchery, became Jesus sins In order for Jesus to pay the penalty for all of our sins, He had to take them all upon Himself Consider the terrible things done to children by evil men Consider the horrible acts committed by Hitler and every other evil person on the earth These unimaginable abominations became Jesus sins The fact is, when Jesus asked the Father if there was any other way that man s redemption could be accomplished, the Father did not speak to Jesus and reveal an additional plan whereby mankind could be saved The arrival of Jesus as the Messiah is a fulfillment of the solitary plan of God which He determined before all creation In specifying who would be qualified to fulfill this office, God spoke through the prophets of the Old Testament and described the attributes of the Messiah These qualifications are detailed for us by 365 prophecies of the Old Testament, in the book The Prophecies of the Messiah, by the same author.Only one person in the history of the world has successfully accomplished the perfect sacrifice for all sins by His perfect and sinless life, when He died for us on the cross. There is no other person amongst all mankind who has perfectly fulfilled every Old Testament prophecy concerning the Messiah, other than Jesus These facts should bring us to a firm understanding that God has chosen one way to heaven by one man Jesus Christ, through the sacrifice He made for all sins on the Cross One way to heaven Someone may object to the fact that the Bible and many Christians emphatically teach that there is just one way to heaven, but this statement is based upon what God has said and it is the truth There is no other way, because there was no other person other than the Son of God who was qualified take away the sins of the world God chose Jesus because He was without sin and possessed a life of infinite and eternal value Of great importance to the entire story of man s salvation, Jesus was willing to die for the sins of the world Before anything else was created, Jesus offered His life for each one of us When the soldiers came to arrest Jesus at the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus permitted their actions He stated that no man had the power to take His life from Him He willingly laid it down for all of us This is why Jesus is the Only way to Heaven.John 10 17 18 Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again This command I have received from My Father From our vantage point as human beings, it is difficult to understand why God would be willing to become one of us, just so that we could viciously put Him to death If the roles were reversed, most people would say that they would not give their life, or be willing to go through horrible torture and suffering, for anyone who has conducted themselves in the manner that humankind has acted during our brief history upon the earth. The real suffering that Jesus endured was not experienced during the six hours in which He hung in agony upon the cross It was the mental and spiritual anguish that He felt as He was abandoned by God and forsaken, as He was made sin for us.Mark 15 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani which is translated, My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me The Father turned away from the Son when He took all our sins upon Himself Just as we cannot have fellowship with God because of our sin, the Father could no longer have fellowship with the Son when He became sin for us.2 Corinthians 5 21 For He the Father made Him the Son who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him None of us could possibly fathom what it was like for the Son of God to be separated from the Father when He died for us Imagine the unbroken love and fellowship, which had existed for countless eons, suddenly broken because our sins were placed upon Jesus.Jesus did this for us because of His great love Even while we were still sinners, He was willing to die for us.Romans 5 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
