    1. See this review and atMy Two Cents First of all, I will openly admit to having a heck of a time getting into this book I have been into a reading slump lately, which is what I am largely contributing this trouble to, however it s not entirely my lack of motivations fault Although the book starts off with a devastating death to the people of Haven, the plot line had trouble moving forward in the beginning There are quiet a few things we see from Awen perspective, her thoughts, pain, and suspicio [...]

    2. REVIEW MURDER IN THE WORLD BELOW is the first storyline in Lara Nance s new contemporary suspense HAVEN MYSTERY series focusing on the men, women and children who live in the underground world known as Haven As a former mental institution for the retarded Haven is now home to the local college but the descendants of many of the previous inmates at Haven now live below the surface, hiding the physical deformities brought about by years of radiation experiments and sexual assaults Afraid of the re [...]

    3. Good story with great characters and a really interesting setting The backstory that the residents of a sanitarium where experiments were performed on those living there have moved into tunnels and caverns underground and have continued to live there for generations undetected is one that interests me a whole bunch A little slow on the get go, but it picked up and finished nicely I figured out the mystery early even with the red herrings that were presented to throw the reader off, but it didn t [...]

    4. Like others, I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review Like at least one other, I wasn t thrilled a first It seemed a bit too slow, and a little weird It didn t take long, however, for me to become totally consumed with the the characters and the world that was created I loved how Awen felt so pulled to be a apart of both worlds, and I was thrilled with all the involved complexities Ms Nance even makes the murder makes sense at some level Like others, I found myself thinkin [...]

    5. Lara Nance gifted me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review I am very glad that she did, and I thank her She introduced me to a totally different genre of reading material and a new author to watch for It has been along time since I read a book where the story kept running though my mind even after I went to bed at night I could not put it down All though this is the first book in a series it stands alone very well I am looking forward to stories of Haven and the people living in [...]

    6. This story is so unusual, and it engulfs you in the world Lara creates Though I don t believe it s classified as steampunk because it s contemporary, it has that sense to it I m not a fan of mystery, but I couldn t put this story down The only reason I didn t give it five stars was because there s a budding romance under the main story line that doesn t receive the attention the romantic in me would ve liked The mystery, the otherworldly quality of the underground world Lara builds, and the char [...]

    7. I was given this book in return for an honest review The book started off fairly nice and continued at an even pace Haven was described in a way that made me wish I could go there myself Bute ending felt as though it had no closure and was a little rushed I m hoping for a sequel, because it would a shame for a good book like this one to have such an abrupt ending with no feeling of finality.

    8. More of a 3.5 I wanted a creepy book, but this had stronger elements of mystery and adventure Awen is a terrific strong character and I enjoyed her relationships with Haven resident Billy and topsider Mimi The how to save the community while finding a murderer kept me turning the pages even though I had serious ethical issues with the hero of the romantic subplot I d love to read a prequel of how Haven came to be such an interesting place.

    9. Very good book.I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.I really enjoyed this book The story was very captivating People who live underground and their way of life Things were so well described that I was living in the caves too and experienced the same thing that they did I would highly recommend reading this book
