    1. I recieved this ARC in return for an honest reviewWhen I got asked to review The Crooked House I was wary, being an Indie author no one knows better than I that there are some people who just shouldn t write I know a lot of self published authors whose work is brilliant and some whose work just isn t.However sometimes you come upon jewels, people who just are a good writer and it s neither here nor there why they are not found among the shelves at a Barnes N Nobles Sometimes you find pieces of w [...]

    2. I want to start by saying despite the rating, this is not a bad book It is the wrong book for me, but might be great for the less easily disturbed by creepy stuff kind of reader. The story itself is cleverly conceived and well written The action literally begins from the first page, and keeps on going. The issue for me is that this is obviously intended to be straddling the line between psychological suspense and horror There are a LOT of disturbing things happening in the story I mean a LOT Basic [...]

    3. Lilith has had a tough life She was raised in foster care and passed from home to home until she meet Frida with whom she works in a diner Lilith is also a psychic and can sense things by touching objects and in dreams When something causes her to be transported to The Crooked House, she finds herself trapped in a world full of scary creatures and strange surroundings Be ready for a novel with a storyline that makes it virtually impossible to put the book down In some respects it reminded me of [...]

    4. Straight up good story I really enjoyed The Crooked House And, even though it is book 1 of a series, it can absolutely be read and enjoyed as a stand alone story This is a clean book that can be enjoyed by teens and adults Lilith is a great character and a good role model She is a hard worker and a loyal friend, and she s determined to overcome her childhood in the not so great foster care system Author John Longeway gives us a beginning, a middle, and happiest of happy days an ending I dislike [...]

    5. I absolutely loved this book Lilith is a young girl lost in a house that never ends The supernatural beasts she meets there are so real they jump off the pages at you The people are strange yet appealing If you love books that make you so scared you don t want to read it while alone yet you can t put it downis is the book for you I can t wait for the next book to be published so I can read about Lilith

    6. Although Fantasy Horror isn t my usual genre of choice, I couldn t put this book down It was a very good and satisfying story from beginning to end In full disclosure, I did receive this book free through the giveaway, but this is not influencing my review I m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

    7. I loved this book It kept my attention, beginning to end The character s were awesome, great read Love this book It kept my attention, beginning to end The characters were awesome, great read Can t wait for the next one

    8. When I m done reading a book I return it to the library or if it s mine and worth a few bucks I try to sell it If I can t sell it because it has little monetary value I put it in the swap pile at the library I do hate clutter But, if it s a book that I really liked reading and would read again someday, I keep it I am keeping this book I m really happy I won a copy and that it s autographed I plan to purchase his other published book also.I ve tried to describe why I liked it a few times but I ke [...]

    9. Good solid story and I might even give it 3.5 stars just not quite 4 It does have some detailed descriptions of blood and violence but that doesn t bother me I think it stops short of a 4 because parts of it felt forced and maybe a little unbelievable Yes, I realize its a ghost story but that suspension of disbelieve required for these stories faltered on occasion.I didn t struggle to finish and liked it overall but I don t think I ll read the next in the series.
