    8. Full review at mysterysequels the fallen In Sticks Stones, Hollis Morgan is an ex convict who is part of a book club of a special kind all members are ex convicts who like to read and discuss their books But I really wanted to see how it all started, and why she was a convict in the first place. As it turns out, she was the innocent or rather gullible partner of her ex husband Bill who once things went awry with his fraud scheme, set her up to fall instead of him Afterall he valued his free time [...]

    9. Being a book lover, I thought it would be fun to read a book about a book club Even though once I started reading the book, I discovered that there wasn t a lot of time spent with the book club, it was still a really good book.I liked Hollis right away The fact that she was set up to take a rap by her then husband was horrible But I am sure that stuff like that happens far often that what I would like to believe She has served her time and has been working really hard to recreate her life The b [...]

    10. I received a copy of the ebook The Fallen Angels Book Club by R Franklin James from LibraryThing s Early Reviewers and I loved it I m a big fan of mysteries and this one really kept me turning the pages James has created a likeable and sympathetic sleuth in Hollis Morgan, a paralegal ex con who ended up in jail simply because she put her trust in her ex husband who used her as the fall guy when his scams caught up to him Now that she s out of prison, she s changed her name and is working on tryi [...]

    11. This is R Franklin James debut novel, a fact which I find hard to believe She has created a character I love in Hollis Morgan, and a great plot Morgan has spent time in prison for her ex husband s white collar crimes While she was in law school and not paying enough attention, he got her to sign some documents She sort of knew it was wrong to sign but just did it to get him out of her hair so she could go on studying Later in court, when she was convicted of fraud, he just shrugged his shoulders [...]

    13. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and thought the whole concept of a book club created purely for white collar criminals an intriguing idea To me it s a great way for people to become active in a safe social setting again without being too harshly criticized or looked down upon because everyone else is in the same boat, has the same common interest and is something that I think would work really well in real life. The main character and one of the Fallen Angels, Hollis Morgan, was very likea [...]

    14. I found The Fallen Angels Book Club a delightful read It certainly contained mystery, murder and mayhem and the only thing in common with the crimes was our heroine Hollis Morgan Hollis became a fairly strong character, frightened that she would be the one charged with the murders although she knew she hadn t committed them but then a few years back, she went to jail in lieu of her ex husband Bill Linley She was an innocent, and he was excessively guilty and free I had not figured out who was be [...]

    15. I found the idea of a book club with members who all have a criminal record intriguing I liked Hollis, the main character, because she was doing her best to get her life back together after she was lured into a white collar crime by her now ex husband She is a paralegal at a high powered law firm but does pro bono work at a elderly home on the side. Her life seems to be getting back on track when one of the members of her book club is murdered It turns out that he is murdered in the same way the [...]

    16. The Fallen Angels Book Club is a proper old fashioned amateur detective Hollis, eager to get her pardon so she can get on with life, starts to investigate the members of the Club after one of them is killed If you think that information about you is private than think again So much of our lives arecaptured under public information As she finds out about her fellow club members, it becomes only confusing And what exactly is Hollis ex husband Bill s part in it all It doesn t add up and with her [...]

    17. What a good time I had reading this book First of all, it s about a group of book lovers who belong to a book club But this book club is unlike any I ve ever heard of before All the members are ex cons Yep, you can only join if you have a white collar criminal record.I love a good murder mystery, and these murders where mirrored from the books the club read I loved that Hollis took the wrap for something her her ex did, and now that she s out she just wants to have a normal life So much for want [...]

    18. The Fallen Angel s Book Club is a story about a book club for felon s It was created by a parole officer who thought it a good idea to get convicted felon s together These people in the club are not murdersor is there one in the group The main character Hollis Morgan just wants to get on with her life after spending time for fraud Her now ex husband left her holding the bag and she does not want to have any further contact with him Since getting out of prison and putting the past behind her all [...]

    20. I received this book for a fair and honest review This book is book 1 in a series This book had a mini mystery storyline within the main one Hollis was trying to help out some elderly residents in a nursing home She was able to figure that mystery out eventually though. The main mystery however was the murders of two book club members For me, it was a real twist who the murder was I didn t see that one coming at all Hollis sure hasn t had an easy life She was trying to get her life back and on th [...]

    21. A well written crime novel that keeps you guessing until the end It starts with an unusual premise for a book club that all members have been convicted of a white collar crime This also means that all members are highly intelligent and perhaps not all are reformed When one of the book club members is killed, Hollis Morgan, trying to clear her name so she can finish her law degree, sets out to investigate Not only does her future career hang in the balance while she herself is a suspect but her l [...]

    22. James has created one of the most intetesting book club requirementsmbers must have been convicted of a white collar crime that they don t discuss with each other Hollis was set up to take the fall for her ex husband and now she finds herself a suspect in the murder of another book club member Hollis is a complete and complex character and James sets the scenes with such a deft touch that I was there There will be coming from James and I m lookng forward to them

    23. R Franklin James pens The Fallen Angels Book Club in a plot that is filled with mystery, thrills and murder by the book The author s characters were likable, realistic and interesting The first book in a new series A Hollis Morgan Mystery and the Author s debut novel, this is one book that kept me guessing from the beginning and a must read for all mystery fans. This review is based on a complimentary copy from the author which was provided for an honest review.

    24. Wow this is a first book The seams definitely do not show The premise grabbed me from the start, a book club where a felony record is the entrance requirement When members of the club are murdered threatening Hollis s dream of expungement, she investigates Her freedom and her life are threatened when it appears she is the common thread The ending was a surprise I didn t see coming, but one that made perfect sense Looking forward to the next book in the series.

    25. This was a fun, complex mystery that kept me guessing until the end The characters are well developed and three dimensional, and the writing is strong and fast paced I loved Hollis Morgan s human conflict between truth and lies and found her both engaging and fully believable as a sleuth and a person Best of all, I didn t figure this one out before the ending which made it even better

    26. Good But Needs EditingBook is good but it needs to be edited better I got confused quite a few times because there was an abrupt change of scenes and the author did not make that easy to realize There would be a sentence between 2 characters and the next sentence was between 2 different characters Story itself was good.

    27. If you like mysteries, you ll like this one If you love San Francisco, you ll be pleased the story takes place in The City R Franklin James is new to mebut I m eager to read the next Fallen Angels book

    28. I received this book as part of the early reviewers program I really enjoyed it It introduced some great characters that were well developed and was an intriguing story I am looking forward to the next one

    29. Excellent finish Engaging for sure Ready for The Return of the Fallen Angels Book Club book two of The Hollis Morgan Mystery series.
