    1. This book can be considered as one of master piece of Sethu Style of narration and theme of story is very different, that keeps this book unique Here author tell about life of woman, whose husband left her and gone to some other places due to untold reasons The story travels through her feeling, pain and anger She is creating a imaginary past, which could be the reason for treatment she received from world including husband Story unravels through imaginary extramarital relationship between her a [...]

    2. This is pioneering work in Malayalam where the author delves fearlessly into fantasy to investigate the eternal enigma of man woman relationship Is it only a lonely woman s fantasy Or is the aptly named Devi Goddess really one, able to create a world at her pleasure It is this book which introduced me to modernism in Malayalam, and for that I am eternally grateful to Sethu Come to think of it, this is due for a re read.

    3. I read this in translation Pandavapuram is an imaginary land, created by an abandoned woman, slowly losing her mind In it she becomes the wielder of a power that the real world refuses to grant her It s a short but powerful story where fantasy and reality merge, in ways that confuse at times Sethu is new to me and is an interesting discovery My attempts to read translations are proving quite rewarding.

    4. I would rather say just one thing The story line of the movie Inception which delves into three levels of dream in a dream construction was easier to wrap my mind compared this one novel. Each time I try to make sense of it, it brings forth a different interpretation dimensions A very good read especially when you like to sip the thoughts again and again to weave another story or stories of yours.

    5. Male writers writing from the perspective of women has been an issue in literature for some time now However, it is the first time I am reading a Malayalam writer writing from the point of view of a female protagonist I can t say whether the novelist is successful in revealing the temperament and mindset of a woman, but it is sure that the writing is a brave one it lashes out at the male world view I would say reading it will be a totally different experience.

    6. A journey that makes you wonder what is real and what is not At some point you,the reader, too are pulled into the vortex of the story and there s no escape unless you will against will and wriggle yourself out.

    7. A fantastic short book with deep layers,.loved the narration, language and surreal ambiance set in it,easily one of the gems in Malayalam literature world Though this was first published 35 years ago,it is still relevant on today s malayali Indian society, theme i felt was women empowerment but its much than that

    8. Pandavapuram is a consolation only a consolation Pandavapuram takes shape in those minds that are in need of consolation Once again, magical realism thrives Sethu, the author and the creator of Pandavapuram, must be a proud soul A must read in Malayalam.

    9. Pandavapuram is one of those Malayalam Novels which deals with a question of moral dilemma through a simple narrative interlaced both with reality and fantasy The author takes the reader through ambiguous zones where you can t separate reality from fantasy Pandavapuram is one woman s tryst with fantasy and her strong conviction which is held as a social stigma Finally It poses a question on whether polyandry is a matter of sexual independence or a serious anti social disease.

    10. One of those books with an absurd ending wherein you re supposed to piece together, make assumptions and appreciate the creative approach of the writer A stranger s arrival in search of his once upon a time object of desire disrupts the rhythm of a village and puts the woman in a quandary But Sethu has other plans Through a disruption of the linearity of the narration, he drives home the larger point of this work sthree shakti

    11. Sethu is undoubtedly one of the most prolific authors in malayalam This masterpiece toggles between real and unreal world The idea behind the whole story is what captivated my imaginations someone creating a past for finding justification for her present faith is a plot which few can envision

    12. Vayich thudangiyapo adyam onnum pidikittiyillakure pages njan kure thavana vayichu his way of narrating each people and the mysterious place all are superboro vyakthikkum pala mukhangalum maaanasika thalangalum undennu thonnippikkunna tharathilulla oru krithy

    13. This is a deeply layered book It may take only a few hours to complete the whole book, but may take days to fully understand it May seem rubbish, but thought provoking novel.

    14. it is a roller coaster ride between the real n unreal u get confused what is what in between goodone in the lines of malayatoors yakshi
